The Asian Consulting Group will hold the 2023 International Tax Conference on June 15 at the I’M Hotel, Makati City. As the grand finale of its international roadshow, the International Tax Conference aims to discuss global issues on taxation, sustainable development, and the digitalization of the economy.
The conference will be attended by business leaders, executives, and representatives from government agencies, international organizations, local business organizations, and foreign chambers of commerce.
The International Tax Conference will be divided into three parts: addressing economic and tax issues, tax policies and digitalization in the Philippines, and good governance and ease of doing business.
For the first segment of the International Tax Conference, which focuses on addressing emerging economic and tax issues, Ralph van Doorn, Senior Economist at the World Bank, will deliver a presentation on “Economic Outlook: Addressing High Inflation” with a focus on the latest economic updates in the Philippines. Additionally, Romeo Balanquit, Assistant Secretary at the Department of Budget and Management, will provide valuable insights into the topic of “Medium-term Fiscal Framework.”
The second part of the event, focusing on tax policies and digitalization in the Philippines, will commence with Aekapol Chongvilaivan, Senior Economist at the Asian Development Bank, enlightening attendees on the topic “Taxation and Digitalization in Asia.” Following his insightful talk, Ragnar Gudmundsson, Resident Representative to the Philippines at the IMF, will delve into the topic of “Promoting Inclusive Growth in the Philippines: Lessons from Global Practices.” Lastly, Hon. Sherwin Gatchalian, Senator of the Senate of the Philippines, will contribute valuable insights on the “Tax Regime for MSMEs.”
Finally, in the third part of the event, which centers around good governance and ease of doing business, esteemed speakers Mon Abrea, Founding Chairman and Chief Tax Advisor of the Asian Consulting Group, and Kirbee Tibayan, National Programme Officer of the Anti-Corruption Programme at the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, will share valuable and impactful insights on the topic of “Global Governance and Corruption.”

The event aims to foster sustainable and inclusive economic growth by promoting sound tax policies and effective governance practices.
