ACG, PTIC, and PH Consulate Join Forces for High-Level Investment Briefing in New York

New York – In partnership with the Philippine Consulate General and the Philippine Trade and Investment Center (PTIC) in New York, the Asian Consulting Group (ACG) will host the International Investment and Tax Briefing on August 13, 2025, at the Philippine Center. The event will also feature the official launch of the book “Reimagining the World Without Climate Change” by Chief Tax Advisor Mon Abrea.

Following a one-month pause in the roadshow, during which Abrea attended the Sanford School of Public Policy at Duke University as part of a program for global practitioners, ACG resumed its U.S. engagements with renewed focus on strengthening investor confidence in the Philippines.
PTIC Trade Commissioner Alma Argayoso will deliver a welcoming message, while Consul General Senen Mangalile will deliver the keynote message of support to emphasize the government’s commitment to attracting strategic and sustainable investments to the Philippines.
This New York briefer marks the continuation of ACG’s 2025 international roadshow, following earlier engagements in Europe and Washington, D.C., and further emphasizes the importance of global partnerships in driving sustainable development and ethical investment.
Alongside the roadshow, Abrea is actively pushing for a package of tax reforms aimed at strengthening the country’s fiscal competitiveness. His five-point policy agenda includes: a 10% flat tax on gross sales for small businesses earning up to ₱100 million annually; updated MSME thresholds to reflect the current business climate; targeted tax amnesty with stricter safeguards; simplified VAT and tax compliance systems; and the creation of an Office of the Taxpayer Advocate to uphold taxpayer rights.
These reforms are designed to promote a tax system that is simpler, fairer, and more consistent, key factors in building investor confidence. A stable and transparent tax environment is essential to improving the ease of doing business and positioning the Philippines as a reliable destination for long-term, responsible investments.
This event forms part of ACG’s broader 2025 international campaign to connect with global stakeholders and promote economic partnerships rooted in transparency, innovation, and sustainability.
