The Philippine Tax Whiz led back-to-back tax seminars on Thursday, November 29, 2018. The tax expert first held a tax coaching session for Security Bank at the Discovery Hub, Security Bank Centre. He then conducted a TRAIN seminar for the Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD) and the Institute for Solidarity in Asia (ISA).
The events were conducted as part of the Tax Whiz Academy’s initiative to promote tax education. By learning about taxes, taxpayers will be able to easily avoid incurring unnecessary penalties.
The first event of the day was the Security Bank Tax Coaching, attended by young professionals. The Founding President of the Asian Consulting Group (ACG) discussed, in brief, the current situation of the Philippine tax system.
He then discussed tax provisions relevant to self-employed and professionals, including the relevant forms and deadlines. The tax expert also answered the most common questions asked by startup owners.
Later in the afternoon, the Philippine Tax Whiz headed to Makati for the in-house TRAIN seminar for ISA and ICD. The event was held at the 14th Floor, The Trident Tower, Makati and was attended by employees of both organizations.
The tax expert discussed the ongoing tax reform in detail. He focused on the only package implemented by the tax reform so far, TRAIN Law, but also provided an overview of the upcoming packages.
Among the packages he discussed were Package 1B (tax amnesty), Package 2 (lowering of corporate income tax), and Package 2+ (additional excise tax on tobacco, alcohol, and mining).
The Asian Consulting Group’s Tax Whiz Academy also holds regular tax seminars at its main office. On December 14, the Philippines’ first Tax Hub is inviting taxpayers again for another Open House. The tax seminar will cover year-end compliance and the BIR audit. In the afternoon, ACG will conduct an Exclusive Tax Coaching session for members of the Association of Filipino Franchisers, Inc. (AFFI).
