The Nationwide Tax Roadshow guided the taxpayers of Bacolod on November 23, Friday. The event was led by the Asian Consulting Group and the Center for Strategic Reforms of the Philippines.
As a social enterprise, ACG seeks to help citizens all over the country by promoting tax education. A leading cause of failed compliance, not learning about taxes eventually leads to expensive fines and penalties.
The Philippine Tax Whiz Mon Abrea spearheaded the events in Bacolod.
During the first part of the event, the Founding President of ACG attended an interview with ABS-CBN Bacolod and SunStar Bacolod.
Right after, the Philippine Tax Whiz led a tax seminar at the DTI Negosyo Center – Bacolod. The seminar was attended by micro, small, and medium enterprise owners.
The tax expert discussed starting a business, common questions of startups, and basic tax compliance. Further, he also provided an overview of the ongoing tax reform, specifically TRAIN Law. According to the tax reform advocate, by learning about its provisions, business owners can also learn how to take advantage of it.
To provide a more in-depth discussion with the attendees, the tax expert also held a free consultation after the event.
In the evening, the Philippine Tax Whiz held a TRAIN seminar for the Junior Chamber International – Bacolod, Manulife, and Viamenti. The tax reform advocate comprehensively discussed the packages of the ongoing tax reform, including the tax amnesty and TRABAHO Bill. He still discussed how businesses can take advantage of TRAIN Law, albeit specific to the industries of the attendees.
Another part of the presentation covered the due process of the BIR audit, a procedure all businesses eventually go through. The tax expert stated that learning about it could save businesses from unnecessary compromises and harassment.
He then conducted a free consultation to provide a one-on-one dialogue on the BIR audit. With the right guidance, business owners can get rid of BIR audit the right way.
