The Nationwide Tax Roadshow Goes to the Resort Capital of Southern Luzon!

The Nationwide Tax Roadshow visited Laguna on Tuesday, November 13 to continue promoting tax education throughout the country. Led by the Philippine Tax Whiz, the event was held at the DTI Negosyo Center – San Pablo, Doña Leonila Park, City Hall Compound, San Pablo. The roadshow was conducted by the Center for Strategic Reforms of the Philippines (CSR Philippines) in partnership with the Asian Consulting Group’s Tax Whiz Academy, DTI Negosyo Center – San Pablo, and the San Pablo Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The Philippine Tax Whiz headed a roundtable discussion attended by members of the San Pablo Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The tax expert discussed basic tax principles and the ongoing tax reform. One of its most prominent advocates, Mon Abrea provided insights on how businesses can take advantage of TRAIN Law.The tax expert also conducted a tax consultation session for the attendees.

As the official Think Tank of the Department of Trade and Industry and the Bureau of Internal Revenue, CSR Philippines seeks to provide assistance to micro, small, and medium enterprises. The non-profit, non-government organization also advocates a genuine tax reform.

In October, the Philippine Tax Whiz published an open letter to legislators and to President Duterte, detailing his proposal to improve the tax reform.

According to the tax expert, reforming tax policies without reforming the tax administration is a pointless endeavor.

The Nationwide Tax Roadshow will continue to roll through the country in November. On November 15, the roadshow will stop by its next destination, Pampanga. The initiative will be followed by seminars in Laoag on November 19 to 20, Bacolod on November 23 to 24, and Cavite on November 28.
