The Tax Whiz Academy and the Center for Strategic Reforms of the Philippines (CSR Philippines), the official Think Tank of the Department of Trade & Industry and the Bureau of Internal Revenue, conducted once again a tax roadshow with our beloved Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) based in Singapore last Saturday, August 4, 2018. Its objective is to help taxpayers become more educated and empowered when it comes to starting a business without setting aside the importance of paying taxes.
The Asian Consulting Group’s Founding President, Mon Abrea, discussed the TRAIN Law and the Ease of Doing Business Act and how they have made starting a business in the Philippines more rewarding and simpler. This was attended by almost 200 OFWs gathered by Financially Literate Philippines (FLPH), a group based in Singapore, headed by Mr. Rex Holgado and Mr. Richard Macalintal, that promotes financial literacy among OFWs in Singapore and among OFW families in the Philippines.
TRAIN Handbooks were sold out which shows how much of our OFWs are enthusiastic to learn more about the tax reform happening in the Philippines. And to support their business plans, thirty (30) of the attendees will be awarded a 1-year FREE tax consultation with Asian Consulting Group – ACG to ensure that they will get the right tax information and enjoy the benefits of the tax reform.

According to Mon Abrea, lack of information is one of the factors leading to noncompliance.
